Resident Tourist

I love Washington, DC. The old expression “Potomac Fever” doesn’t apply since I have essentially zero proximity to power. But, having been DC residents for several years  Rachel and I are like resident-tourists, always discovering new parts of the city. Here are a few of my favorite Washington-area attractions:

The Bonsai and Penjing Collections at The National Arboretum

Teddy Roosevelt Park and Memorial

The Main Reading Room of the Library of Congress

The Renwick Gallery

James Hampton’s Throne of the Third Heaven

Calder Room in the National Gallery’s East Wing

Kogod Courtyard at the National Portrait Gallery & Museum of American Art

Lincoln and Bethune Memorials in Lincoln Park

Adams Memorial “Grief” in Rock Creek Cemetery
